Like other pension plans, the Cash Balance Pension Plan can help you reach your financial goals for retirement. The plan supplements Social Security, your savings in the Thrift or Savings Plan, and any other personal savings.
The Company makes contributions to the plan on your behalf for each year of your service. You make no contributions. Unlike traditional retirement plans, you’ll be able to see exactly how much you have accumulated toward retirement in your Cash Balance account, and also move some of the money from this account to your Thrift or Savings Plan account to take advantage of a broader range of investment options.
