New Hire Orientation

Introduction

Welcome!

The Company has designed a benefit package to help its employees stay healthy, save money, prepare for retirement, and deal with everyday life. By taking advantage of the benefits the Company offers, you are arming yourself with the tools you need to make your life easier and more productive, so you can stay more focused on the things that are most important to you—your family, your friends, and your job.

Benefits Orientation will help you make your first-time enrollment decisions. By following these four steps, you'll be ready to enroll:

1. Get your general enrollment questions answered.

2. Find additional resources if needed.

3. Learn about the three categories of benefits:

  • Benefits 2000 Programs, which include medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage; group term life and disability insurance; long term care coverage; and reimbursement accounts.
  • Financial Security Programs, which include the Thrift Plan and the Cash Balance Pension Plan to assist you in reaching your financial goals and preparing for retirement.
  • Real Life Solutions Programs, which include benefits—such as group legal and property and casualty insurance—that are designed to help you balance your work and life and deal with everyday issues.

Plan to spend 30 to 40 minutes learning about your benefits and preparing to enroll. The first two sections, Benefits 2000 Programs and Financial Security Programs, require you to key in information and make decisions about your benefits. Record your decisions in the boxes provided and print your decisions and to them to enroll through Your Benefits Resources.

In addition, look for these symbols, which will help you identify how you should use the information:
