Your Vacation Selling Program

If you are currently entitled to at least three weeks (fifteen days) of vacation, you may sell up to 10 days of unused vacation for the current plan year.

You can make the election to sell vacation days during the annual enrollment period each fall. Days can be sold in full-day increments.

You will receive a lump-sum amount as soon as practical following the January 1 after an enrollment during which you elect to sell vacation days. The lump sum will be based on your base pay as of that January 1.

If an election is made during annual enrollment to sell vacation days, and the days are then used before the payout is made, the lump-sum amount will be reduced or eliminated. The lump sum you receive when you sell unused vacation days is not included for the purposes of calculating your pension and is not matched by the Company with a contribution to the Thrift Plan.

Your Eligibility

You must be eligible for at least three weeks (15 days) of vacation based on actual service with the Company as of September 30 of the prior plan year to be eligible to participate.

Additional vacation provided as part of a hiring agreement cannot be sold unless you have actual service that would entitle you to at least 15 days of vacation.
